Our group consists of 80+ people.Role DescriptionThe General Ledger Accountant position is a key support to the Financial Management team, ensuring that delegated month and year end accounting functions are completed accurately and within established timelines. The incumbent also performs the day-to-day accounting functions as delegated.Duties will include, but are not limited to:Daily/monthly banking functionsAssistance in the preparation of the monthly/quarterly/year-end financial statements,including but not limited to:oBalance sheet reconciliations including all standard entriesoRevenue reconciliations including maintenance/reconciliation of revenue accrualsoExpense reconciliations including maintenance/reconciliation of expense accrualsAssisting with auditor information requests with annual, internal,
and external auditsBatch review of payable/receivable transactionsLiaise with and provide support to accounts payable/accounts receivable teams as requiredProvide information support and data analysis as requested by Financial and DepartmentalManagementDevelopment and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)Other duties as assignedHours of work:Full Time - Monday to FridayOvertime may be required to meet operational timelines for month end, year end and various projectsQualifications:Enrollment in the CPA program at an intermediate level is an assetExperience with fixed asset, inventory accounting, and Excellent Plains Accounting system is an assetA minimum of 3 years of experience as a General Ledger AccountantAdvanced Excel and Microsoft Office skillsExperience with full cycle accounting, up to and including balance sheet and incomestatement reviewsDemonstrated success in meeting tight deadlinesDemonstrated ability in identifying and implementing continuous improvementDemonstrated ability of critical thinking skills when analyzing financial dataWillingness to share ideas, find solutions and improvements and support others to besuccessfulAble to build strong, trusting relationships with stakeholders, financial management andfellow team membersAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong organizational and time-management skillsAbove average communication skills, both written and verbalA combination of related education and experience may be considered.EIC Shared Services is an equal opportunity employer..
