Assistant Store Manager (Full-Time) – Metrotown, Burnaby
Wage: $24-$32/hour

What You’ll Do
Store Operations

Partner with the Store Manager to ensure all operations meet company standards, including opening and closing procedures, scheduling, cash wrap, inventory management, loss prevention, POS systems, and health and safety

Keep the store clean, organized, and on-brand, including drying and caring for footwear and maintaining water installations and fixtures

Support in-store community events and activations

Recruit and onboard Sales Associates and Team Leads who reflect Vessi’s vision, mission, and core values

Build weekly schedules and labour plans with the Store Manager, and manage time-off requests

Train Team Leads and Sales Associates on product knowledge, SOPs, and selling best practices

Drive engagement and build a strong store culture where the team feels recognized and motivated

Coach team members through day-to-day issues and elevate to the Store Manager when needed

Performance

Lead by example on the sales floor and hold the team to consistently meeting and exceeding sales targets

Monitor and act on key metrics including sales per hour (SPH), average transaction value (ATV), conversion, net promoter score (NPS), and inventory KPIs





Champion a customer-first mindset and live out our core values as a Vessi brand ambassador

What We’re Looking For

2+ years of retail management experience, ideally in footwear or apparel

A track record of building and leading high-performing teams

Strong business acumen

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

Sharp attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills

Full open availability Monday through Sunday, including evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays

Ability to work extended hours during peak retail periods, including Black Friday, Boxing Day, and the holiday season, as business needs require

Customer Obsession: You create memorable experiences and coach your team to read customer needs, not just sell to them.

Sales Leadership: You lead from the floor, set the pace, and turn KPIs like conversion and AOV into daily action.

Coaching & Development: You give in-the-moment feedback, build confidence, and grow Team Leads into future leaders.

Operational Excellence: You keep standards high on visual merchandising, inventory accuracy, and store procedures, even on the busiest days.

Accountability & Ownership: You follow through, own results, and confidently lead the store when the Store Manager isn’t there.

Adaptability: You stay calm and solution-focused through peak seasons, staffing gaps, and shifting priorities.
