Reporting to the Controller, the Accounts Receivable Specialist is a key player on the finance team. You will be responsible for the full accounts receivable cycle, from invoicing to cash receipts.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and distribute contract invoices, including holdback invoices
Compare contract amount for billing purposes, including change orders to original documents
Complete and distribute certificates of insurance and statutory declarations for contractors
Communicate with sub-trades and collect, review and approve invoices for billing
Collection of overdue invoices
Enter deposits and apply payments in accounting system;
Make recommendations to improve quality of invoicing and collection procedures
Ah-hoc projects as required for the Controller
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Robust attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Bilingualism is an asset
Ability to work independently as well in a team based setting
Ability to prioritize and multi-task
Strong analytical/problem solving skills
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Post-secondary education or equivalent accounting experience
Approximately five years’ work experience in accounts receivable including billing and collection
Experience in the construction industry an asset
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
