JOB OVERVIEW

Department: Mechanic Shop

Reports to: Fleet Manager

Location: Toronto (Scarborough), ON, Canada

Job Type: Full-Time, Days

Start Date: Immediately

Mechanics at Powerline Ltd. inspect, diagnose, repair, adjust, overhaul and service mechanical and electrical components. Mechanics participate actively and maintain ongoing relations with co-workers, various Departmental Managers and the Fleet Manager.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Completion of a Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities approved apprenticeship program – 310S
310S Certificate
A minimum of three (3) years of work experience in the trade
Valid ‘G’ Driver’s License with clean driver’s abstract required; Class DZ or better considered an asset
Physically capable of meeting the job requirements; ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds, ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and safely climb a ladder.

Diagnostics; faults and malfunctions
Front-end components
Engine repair and overhaul
Diesel engine diagnostics
Steering and suspension
Air brake diagnostics and repair
Ignition and electrical systems
Automatic transmission
Standard transmission
AC, cooling and heating systems
Drive train components
Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications
Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance
Welding; electrical and gas
Trailer repair
Excavation equipment repairs
Crane and aerial devices
Service calls
