Grinder / General Labourer
We have an immediate opening for an experienced and responsible candidate at our Edmonton Service Center. As a general shop technician, the focus areas for this role will be in sandblasting and general labour.
Responsibilities
- Performing cleaning and grit blasting machine components as required
- Ability and knowledge of working with a variety of hand and power tools an asset
- Parts/components transport between the departments
- Painting and preparing parts for shipment
- Be competent in overhead crane and forklift operation
- Report-in to work area on time to receive assignment
- Have proper personal tooling as required
- Return tooling to proper locations; Report any misuse of equipment
- Ability to follow instructions and direction, and take appropriate initiative to participate in a team setting
- Maintaining work supplies and materials by reading work orders; locating and verifying items in inventory; loading items on trucks or pull-carts; moving items to site; unloading items
- Maintaining a clean and safe work site by: removing scrap; sweeping and mopping area; erecting barriers, following safety rules and procedures; wearing appropriate personal protective equipment
- Ability to work overtime as required
- Be self-motivated and willing to learn
- Observe all Company Safety policies and regulations
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Counterbalance Forklift certification an asset
- Ability to plan and complete tasks on time
- Familiar with basics of sandblasting
- Adept in the use of power tools
- Good computer skills
- Must be a team player
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
