The Shop Hand is expected to be adaptable, eager to learn, and have basic mechanical aptitude.CORE DUTIES:Shop OperationsReceive, understand, and execute instructions from Shop Foreman and senior employeesClean equipment and tools using a high-power pressure washerDisassemble equipment, if needed, to thoroughly cleanIdentify faulty/damaged equipment and/or defective materials and inform the supervisor of the problemRepair/service submersible pumps and other pumping equipmentDetermine the correct type of tools/equipment to be used for a specific taskUtilize checklists, inspections, work procedures, and safety guidelines to complete tasksComplete assigned tasks in a secure, efficient, and timely mannerPerform routine housekeeping duties in the shopOther DutiesComplete all required paperwork on a daily basis,



including hazard assessment and Daily JobControl SheetCooperate with Training department for scheduling of new/recertification trainingObserve all safety procedures and use proper Personal Protective EquipmentEnsure all Ketek's work procedures, policies and Occupational Health and Safety regulations are followed.Represent Ketek in a light that is commensurate with the values of Management and the Corporate Vision and Mission StatementsDuties, responsibilities, and activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:RequiredValid Class 5 Driver's Licence and clean driver's abstractHigh school diploma or GEDFluent in the English language (reading, written, spoken)Experience working with basic hand toolsAbility to handle multiple tasks and frequent demanding deadlinesAbility to handle changing schedules and priorities, with high-level prioritization skillsStrong work ethic and organizational planning skills with attention to detailAbility to work independently or as part of a teamEffective verbal and listening communication skillsPreferredExperience in dewatering, well-testing, or water transferBasic knowledge of submersible pumpsExperience on oilfield or oilsands sitesThis position is defined as Safety Sensitive: Drug, Alcohol, Back and Audio tests are required prior to commencing employment.Work EnvironmentField workplace (10%) and shop environment (90%)Required to work weekends and outside of regular office hoursRequired to work outside in all different weather conditions including extreme cold and heat
