We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder to support the fabrication and assembly of armored and specialty vehicles. This role is responsible for welding, fitting, assembling, and finishing metal components in accordance with engineering drawings and production requirements. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring structural integrity, quality, and precision throughout the vehicle manufacturing process.

Why This Role Would Be A Great Fit

Play a key role in building some of the most advanced armored and specialty vehicles in the world.

Apply your welding and fabrication skills to unique, custom-built products rather than repetitive production work.

Work alongside experienced engineering, fabrication, and production professionals in a collaborative manufacturing setting.

What You’ll Do

Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints for custom armored vehicle fabrication

Weld and assemble metal components for armored vehicle structures

Inspect welds for quality, remove spatter, and ensure clean, strong joints

Prime and seal weld spots to prepare for finishing

Set up and adjust welding equipment (amperage, voltage, slope, pulse) based on engineering requirements

Operate manual and semi‑automatic flame‑cutting equipment

Use metal‑shaping machinery including brakes, shears, straighteners, and bending machines

Perform minor repairs and maintenance on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment

Fit, braze, and torch‑straighten metal components

Weld in multiple positions: flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead

Determine material weldability and ensure proper bonding

Operate pre‑set welding, brazing, and soldering machines for fabrication and repair tasks

Experience in armored vehicle manufacturing, custom automotive fabrication, heavy vehicle production, or a related industry.

Experience working within OEM-quality manufacturing environments.

Familiarity with ISO 9001, VPAM, STANAG, and other manufacturing or quality standards.

Experience using advanced metal-forming, cutting, and welding equipment.

Welding certifications would be considered an asset.

Competencies

Strong understanding of welding principles, metal fabrication practices, and assembly processes.

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship.

Ability to consistently produce accurate, high-quality work in a production environment.

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to work efficiently under production deadlines while maintaining quality standards.

Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Strong commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift, move, and position metal components, materials, and equipment as required.

Ability to safely perform welding and fabrication tasks in a manufacturing environment.

Manual dexterity sufficient to operate welding, cutting, grinding, and fabrication equipment.

Working Conditions
This role operates within a manufacturing and fabrication environment and involves working with welding equipment, flame-cutting equipment, metal‑forming machinery, and specialty fabrication tools. The successful candidate will be exposed to noise, heat, welding fumes, sparks, and other conditions commonly associated with metal fabrication and vehicle manufacturing. Appropriate personal protective equipment, including welding helmets, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toed footwear, must be worn as required.
