As a Driver you will be responsible for the delivery of high-pressure cylinders, liquid containers, etc. to customer locations.
What you will enjoy doing*
You’ll be loading and unloading cylinders, making sure to count and record the quantities and types so everything matches the shipping documents
It’s important to check and placard the vehicle following Transportation of Dangerous Goods regulations to keep everything safe and compliant
You’ll follow all operating and safety procedures carefully while doing your tasks to protect yourself and others
Completing shipping orders and the related paperwork will be part of your daily routine to keep things organized
You’ll also handle trip reports, fuel tickets, and any other necessary reports to track your work accurately
Before and after each trip, you’ll inspect the vehicle, noting any defects or issues and explaining them to your supervisor
When you spot repairs or maintenance needs, you’ll take responsibility to make sure those get done with as little disruption as possible to the operation
What makes you great*
You’ll need at least two (2) years of AZ driving experience, and if you have DOT driving experience, that’s definitely a bonus
It’s important to have a valid, incident-free provincial driver’s license with an air brake endorsement to handle the vehicles safely
Being comfortable manipulating different cylinder sizes and weights is part of the job, so you should be ready for that
You should be able to lift up to 60 pounds regularly as part of your daily tasks
Having knowledge of compressed gases and how to handle them safely will really help you do the job well
A solid mechanical aptitude will make it easier to understand and work with the equipment
Training in Transportation of Dangerous Goods and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System is a great asset to keep everything compliant and safe
