Accountant (14-Month Contract)

KenWave is growing, and we're looking for a detail-oriented and collaborative Accountant to join our Finance team on a 14-month contract. This role will be responsible for performing key accounting functions, and assisting with financial reporting, cash management, compliance, and process improvements while supporting the continued growth of the business.

Reporting to the Controller you will play an important role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information, supporting strategic decision-making, and maintaining strong financial controls across the organization.

What You'll Be Doing

- Work with the Project Managers to prepare billings for clients and process in the accounting system
- Track project receivables and perform cash applications including those with foreign exchange.
- Prepare weekly cash disbursement summary for cash management purposes
- Distribute invoices to various parties for approval on a timely basis
- Process monthly credit card and expense statements
- Process payments to suppliers/employees accurately and promptly
- Perform the accounts payable function, including weekly payments.
- Prepare supplier credit references
- File and remit HST and QST
- Assist with reconciling the general ledger, including preparation and review of journal entries.
- Support daily, weekly,



and monthly cash management activities.
- Review and validate monthly project profitability reporting.
- Perform government remittances, including HST and QST filings.
- Participate in month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and audit support.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, ASPE, and other applicable accounting standards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting efficiencies.
- Other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

- College diploma or university degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CPA designation in progress
- 5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a Senior Accountant or Intermediate Accountant capacity.
- Robust knowledge of GAAP, ASPE, and financial reporting practices.
- Experience with year-end audits.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.

Salary: 65-100K
