Tally CPA is a growing, cloud-based accounting firm providing outsourced accounting services to small and medium-sized businesses across Canada.

We act as the accounting department for our clients, handling their bookkeeping, payroll, sales taxes, financial reporting, and corporate tax compliance.

We're a small, friendly, and growing team that takes our work seriously without taking ourselves too seriously. Although we're 100% remote, we work closely together, support one another, and maintain a collaborative, personable environment.

We're looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team, oversee a group of bookkeepers, and take ownership of a portfolio of business clients.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys accounting, working with business owners, leading people, and having a meaningful say in how a growing firm operates.

The Role

You'll work directly with the firm's founder and lead a dedicated team of approximately 2–3 bookkeepers.Your responsibilities will include:

- Oversee and review monthly bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial statements prepared by your team
- Handle more complex accounting matters, including accruals, prepaids, capital assets, shareholder loans, and intercompany transactions
- Ensure month-end processes are completed accurately and on schedule
- Review GST/HST/QST filings and other recurring accounting deliverables
- Lead, coach, and support bookkeepers to improve their technical skills, independence, and efficiency




- Build strong relationships with clients, answer accounting questions, and provide practical guidance
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, processes, and automation
- Work closely with the leadership team on client quality, operational improvements, and firm growth

The goal isn't for you to spend your days entering transactions or doing routine bookkeeping. We're looking for someone who can confidently lead a team, review its work, make accounting decisions, and ensure clients receive accurate, timely financial information.

What We're Looking For

- At least 5 years of experience working in a Canadian accounting firm
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and the ability to independently resolve complex bookkeeping and month-end issues
- Expertise in cloud accounting, particularly QuickBooks Online, and experience with tools such as Dext, Plooto, Xero, Wagepoint, or similar platforms
- Experience reviewing the work of accountants or bookkeepers and helping team members improve
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to oversee multiple client files and deadlines
- Comfortable communicating directly with business owners and providing practical accounting guidance
- A proactive,



solutions-oriented mindset with a genuine interest in technology, automation, and improving processes
- A collaborative, approachable personality and a willingness to help others succeed

A Canadian CPA designation, previous team management experience, and proficiency in French are considered assets but are not required. Why Join Tally?
