As we continue to expand our operations, we're looking for an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our accounting team.

What You'll Be Doing

As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you'll play an important role in ensuring our financial information is accurate, current, and properly recorded.

Your responsibilities will include

- Processing, reviewing, and accurately entering supplier invoices, credit notes, and related financial transactions.
- Ensuring all invoices are supported by appropriate purchase orders, receiving documentation, and required approvals.
- Matching purchase orders, invoices, and receiving records, identifying and resolving discrepancies before processing.
- Assigning expenses and purchases to the correct General Ledger (GL) accounts, departments, branches, and cost centres.
- Understanding how your accounting entries affect financial statements, operating expenses, equipment costs, and company profitability.
- Reviewing vendor statements, reconciling outstanding balances, and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintaining accurate vendor accounts, payment terms, and supporting documentation.
- Preparing payment batches and assisting with scheduled vendor payments, subject to proper approvals.
- Communicating professionally with vendors and internal departments to resolve invoice or payment concerns.
- Assisting with month-end closing procedures, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Ensuring accounts payable records are current, accurate, organized, and readily available for management review.




- Working closely with our Controller and accounting team to improve processes, strengthen financial controls, and maintain accountability.

Understanding the General Ledger Is Essential At RTI, we believe accounting is much more than entering numbers into a computer.

Every transaction has an impact. Every GL entry matters.

We are specifically looking for someone who understands what a General Ledger is, how it works, and why accurate coding is so important.

You should be comfortable understanding:

- The difference between an expense, an asset, and a liability.
- How invoice coding affects the accuracy of financial statements.
- Why purchases must be assigned to the correct GL account, branch, or department.
- The importance of properly recording equipment repairs, maintenance, inventory, and capital purchases.
- How incorrect entries can affect profitability, budgets, financial reporting, and business decisions.
- The importance of reconciling accounts and identifying errors before they become larger problems.

You don't need to be a CPA or a senior accountant, but you must have a solid understanding of basic accounting principles and the importance of getting things right.

What We're Looking For

Our ideal candidate will bring:

- Previous experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, or a similar accounting position.
- If you worked with CDK Intellidealer that would be amazing.........tell us what CRM/Accounting Software you are comfortable working in.
- A working understanding of General Ledger accounts and basic accounting principles.
- Experience processing invoices, reconciling vendor statements, and resolving discrepancies.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Good communication skills and the confidence to ask questions when something doesn't look right.
- A professional, positive attitude and a willingness to work collaboratively with others.
- A sense of personal accountability and pride in the quality of their work.

Experience in the construction,
