Job Title: Senior Software Engineer (Java)

Location: Toronto, ON (Downtown)

Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite per week

Duration: 8+ month contract with a strong possibility of extension or permanent conversion

Schedule: Monday–Friday, core business hours (9 AM–5 PM)

Key Responsibilities

- Drive large-scale engineering projects from design through production.
- Develop and maintain scalable backend services, web applications, and APIs using Java.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Troubleshoot complex technical challenges and improve system performance and reliability.
- Mentor team members and contribute to engineering best practices.
- Support the development of modern, AI-driven web and mobile application platforms.

Required Qualifications

- 5+ years of backend software development experience with strong Java expertise.
- Experience building and operating large-scale, consumer-facing web applications and services.
- Strong understanding of backend technologies, cloud platforms, web development, and APIs.
- Experience working in a DevOps workplace.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, ownership, and a customer-focused mindset.

Nice to Have

- Experience with service design,



service discovery, and runtime orchestration.
- Experience building and operating high-traffic services and APIs.
- Exposure to AI-powered applications and modern application platforms.
