About the Role

St Mary Rideau Family Clinic is a busy and growing family medicine and walk-in clinic in downtown Ottawa.

We are seeking an experienced, proactive and compassionate Clinical Assistant to support our family physicians with patient assessments, basic clinical procedures and clinical administration.

This role is ideal for an International Medical Graduate (IMG) or healthcare professional with hands-on experience in a Canadian primary care setting.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct initial patient intake, obtain medical histories, record vital signs and assist with patient triage.
- Support physicians with minor clinical presentations, including coughs, colds and other common illnesses.
- Assist with STI screening, specimen collection, wound dressing and other basic clinical procedures.
- Prepare referrals, coordinate follow-ups and assist with clinical inbox management.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in the EMR.
- Support efficient patient flow and day-to-day clinical operations.





All clinical duties are performed under physician supervision and within the individual's authorised scope of practice.

Requirements

- Medical degree or relevant clinical healthcare qualification.
- Previous clinical experience, preferably in a Canadian family medicine or walk-in clinic.
- Strong clinical assessment, communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to recognise urgent concerns and escalate appropriately.
- Familiarity with referrals, clinical documentation and patient follow-ups.
- OSCAR Pro EMR experience is an added advantage.
- International Medical Graduates (IMGs) are encouraged to apply.
- Legally authorised to work in Canada.

We are looking to fill this position as soon as possible. Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
