Job Summary

Standard Auto Wreckers is looking for a Closing Supervisor to oversee our Shipping Department through the afternoon and evening shift. This person will be responsible for taking over outstanding work from the day shift and ensuring the departmental work is completed and closed each night. This includes supervising staff, assigning work, ensure all outgoing trucks are load, ensuring all orders scheduled are completed and ensure a clean handoff for the day shift.

Responsibilities

- Supervise shipping/quality control employees during the closing shift
- Take over outstanding work from the day shift supervisors
- Assign takes and set priorities for employees
- Monitor parts and orders that still need to be completed
- Make sure parts are ready for outgoing deliveries
- Oversee truck loading and confirm required trucks are fully loaded before leaving
- Ensure work areas are reviewed and organized before close
- Coordinate outstanding orders for all modes of delivery
- Work closely with the closing administrative assistant
- Respond to day to day shipping issues involving staff, parts, equipment, vehicles or deliveries
- Ensure all work areas are cleaned and closing duties are completed
- Complete a clear handoff for the opening shift




- Report unresolved or significant issues to the Shipping Manager

Experience Required

- Previous experience as a Shipping Supervisor, Warehouse Supervisor, Logistics Supervisor or equivalent work experience
- Experience supervising employees and assigning work
- Experience working in shipping, warehousing, logistics, distribution, or automotive recycling
- Comfortable managing priorities and making decisions during a busy shift
- Strong communication and follow up skills

Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift experience.
- Forklift certification.
- Shipping and receiving experience.
- Automotive parts experience.
- Automotive recycling experience.
- Experience with freight, Courier, or LTL Shipping.
- Experience with warehouse or inventory systems.

What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the Closing shift and make sure the day's work is properly finished.

You should be comfortable

- Giving employees direction.
- Setting priorities.
- Following up on unfinished work.
- Making sure trucks are loaded correctly.
- Communicating issues clearly.
- Working independently after the day team has left.
- Making sure the department is ready for the next morning.

Main Expectation Own the close.

Make sure the work is finished, trucks are loaded, the department is cleaned up and secured, and the Opening shift knows what still needs attention.

Pay: $25.00-$29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 44.0 per week
