Cockpit Ergonomics and Design Engineer

Greater Montreal, QC | Hybrid (3 days onsite) | Full-time Permanent position

Job Summary A outstanding cockpit fits the pilot perfectly: every control within reach, every display in clear view. In this role, you make that happen.

You'll shape cockpit geometry, controls and layouts through 3D modeling, simulation and hands-on rig testing. You'll work with flight crews to see how your designs perform, then turn what you learn into clear specifications and requirements.

What you'll do

- Shape cockpit geometry and interfaces through 3D modeling, simulation, analysis and rig testing

- Define physical and functional interface specifications and requirements

- Apply physical ergonomics expertise to tests and analysis

- Work with flight crews to assess how the cockpit fits and works for them

- Support requirements validation and verification, task analysis and human error analysis

- Help design and evaluate the flight deck user experience

- Document human factors work for new aircraft, cockpit upgrades and in-service programs

- Team up with human factors specialists in maintenance and manufacturing





What you bring

- Bachelor's in engineering, science or industrial design, plus education in ergonomics or equivalent

- Practical experience in physical ergonomics (anthropometry, strength, reach, vision)

- Solid experience with 3D CAD and digital human modeling tools

- Interest in and knowledge of aerospace, including aircraft systems and the regulatory environment

- Knowledge of manufacturing processes

- Experience planning and running evaluations and validation tests

- Strong technical writing and presentation skills in English; French is an asset
