Our client is an established name in the furniture and home furnishings industry, known for its design-driven approach, entrepreneurial mindset, and commitment to creating products that resonate with today's consumers.
With a portfolio of recognized brands and a business that continues to evolve, they are looking for someone who can bring structure, clarity, and actionable insights to their claims and product quality data.
This is an exciting opportunity for an analytical, curious, and self-directed professional who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and building something from the ground up.
As the organization's first dedicated Data Analyst, you'll have the opportunity to shape how claims, returns, and customer feedback data is collected, analyzed, and used to drive better business decisions.
Reporting to the Manager, Product Development & Sourcing, you'll work closely with Quality Control, Customer Resolutions, Product Development, Sourcing, and cross-functional brand teams across North America and Asia.
Your work will play an important role in identifying product quality trends, supporting corrective actions, and improving the overall customer experience.
What You'll Be Doing
Turning Data Into Actionable Insights
- Consolidate claims, returns, and product damage data from multiple sources, including SAP, customer data, internal reporting, and brand channels.
- Clean, organize, and standardize datasets to ensure consistency and reliability.
- Analyze claims by product, SKU, vendor, defect type, sales channel, and region to identify patterns and emerging issues.
- Translate findings into clear, practical recommendations that help Quality Control teams investigate and address product concerns.
- Highlight recurring issues and root-cause indicators, supported by data on claims volume, financial impact, and affected products.
Collaborating Across the Business
- Partner with Customer Resolutions and internal teams to understand how claims are captured, classified, and managed.
- Work alongside Quality Control to track issues from initial identification through corrective action.
- Measure the effectiveness of product improvements by monitoring changes in claims trends.
- Share insights with Product Development, Sourcing, and brand teams to support informed product and vendor decisions.
Improving Data Quality & Processes
- Review existing data sources, systems, and workflows to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Recommend better approaches to data capture, classification, and reporting.
- Establish consistent data standards, including defect coding, required information, and product identification.
- Help create scalable and reliable processes that support the organization's continued growth.
Building Reports, Dashboards & Best Practices
- Develop and maintain recurring reports and Power BI dashboards that provide visibility into claims trends and product quality.
- Create weekly and monthly reporting that highlights priority issues, vendor performance, and product-level trends.
- Document workflows and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and continuity.
- Support leadership and cross-functional teams with ad hoc reporting and analysis.
What You'll Bring We're looking for someone who combines strong technical capabilities with curiosity, initiative, and the ability to communicate data in a way that makes sense to the wider business.
The Essentials
- 2 to 4 years of experience in a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar analytical role.
- Advanced Excel skills, including Power Query, pivot tables, XLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, and data cleaning.
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining dashboards in Power BI.
- Experience extracting, organizing, and analyzing data from SAP or another ERP system.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work across multiple datasets and identify meaningful trends.
- Ability to translate complex findings into concise, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- A proactive, organized, and independent working style, with confidence taking ownership of new processes and initiatives.
- Strong written communication skills,
including experience documenting processes and creating SOPs.
- Comfort using AI-powered tools, including ChatGPT, Claude, or similar platforms, to support productivity and analysis.
