We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our small established dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the dental team in providing exceptional patient care, ensuring smooth clinic operations, and assisting with various dental procedures. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about dental health and eager to grow their skills within a professional environment.
Prior experience with dental software such as Tracker, as well as previous office experience will be prioritized.
HARP certification is an asset.
Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments and dental products
- Clean and sterilize dental instruments per IPAC protocols
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures
- Take x-rays (HARP certification only)
- Manage patient records accurately using dental software (Tracker)
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care
- Schedule appointments, confirm patient visits, and handle administrative tasks related to patient flow
- Check patient insurance and discuss with patients when required
- Assist with billing, insurance claims, and other front-office duties as needed
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and IPAC regulations
Experience
- Prior experience in dental assisting is preferred
- Familiarity with dental software Tracker is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry
- Certification in dental assisting or related field is preferred but not required
- HARP Certification is preferred but not required
- BLS training is required
Hours
- Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 4:30pm
- 2 Friday and Saturday's per month
- On call dates as needed
