Aquarian Industries international Ltd (oa Cypher Environmental)

Winnipeg

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE The Director of Strategic Initiatives works directly with the CEO and executive leadership team to advance Cypher Environmental’s most important business priorities, drive key projects forward, and turn ideas into results.

This is a hands-on, cross-functional role for a motivated, resourceful, and results-driven individual who thrives on taking ownership and getting things done. Working closely with the CEO and executive team, the Director will take on projects and initiatives identified by senior leadership, develop practical plans, coordinate the people and resources involved, and drive execution through to completion.

The role requires someone who can think critically, work independently, solve problems, and adapt quickly as priorities evolve. While some initiatives will involve strategic analysis and planning, a significant part of the position will focus on execution: organizing the work, working through challenges, following up on commitments, and ensuring that projects continue to move forward.

Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the executive team, the Director of Strategic Initiatives will have exposure to a broad range of business functions, strategic decisions, and growth opportunities. This is an opportunity for an ambitious professional to make a meaningful contribution to a growing organization, work alongside senior leadership, and develop their capabilities through direct involvement in high-impact business initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Initiatives & Project Execution

- Take ownership of projects and initiatives assigned by the CEO and executive team, driving them from initial planning through implementation and completion.
- Turn ideas, objectives, and discussions into clear action plans, timelines, deliverables, and measurable outcomes.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to keep projects moving and ensure responsibilities and next steps are clear.
- Track progress, follow up on outstanding items, identify roadblocks, and proactively work toward solutions.
- Manage multiple projects and competing priorities while maintaining organization, accountability, and attention to detail.
- Research unfamiliar topics, gather information, evaluate options, and develop recommendations to support decision-making.
- Ensure that commitments are followed through and that initiatives deliver their intended outcomes.

Executive & Cross-Functional Support

- Work directly with the CEO and executive team to support the execution of corporate priorities and business objectives.

- Initiate and take ownership of projects that senior leaders delegate, allowing them to focus on broader strategic and operational responsibilities.
- Work across departments to gather information, coordinate activities, solve problems, and advance shared priorities.
- Prepare project updates, research, reports, presentations, and other materials to support planning and executive decision-making.
- Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement, and help implement practical solutions.
- Anticipate what needs to happen next, ask thoughtful questions, and take initiative without waiting for every step to be assigned.
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of Cypher Environmental’s events such as their annual golf tournament, overseeing timelines, budgets, sponsors, registrations, vendors, logistics, and event-day activities to ensure a successful event.

Business Development & Growth Initiatives

- Research and assess new business opportunities, markets, partnerships, and potential avenues for growth.
- Support the evaluation and advancement of strategic relationships, alliances, and international expansion opportunities.
- Assist with business planning, market research, competitive analysis, and the development of recommendations for leadership.
- Support selected client, distributor, industry, and partnership initiatives as required.
- Help translate identified growth opportunities into actionable plans and coordinate the work required to advance them.
- Attend trade shows

Process Improvement & Organizational Effectiveness

- Identify opportunities to improve how work is organized, communicated, tracked, and completed across the organization.
- Develop practical tools, processes, and systems to improve project visibility, coordination, and follow-through.
- Help establish clear milestones, responsibilities, and measures of success for key initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with team members across the organization to implement improvements and resolve challenges.
- Adapt to changing priorities and take on new projects and responsibilities as the business evolves.

QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES We are looking for someone with the drive, judgment,

and initiative to take on meaningful responsibility and grow with the organization.

- Some professional experience in project coordination, business operations, business development, consulting, research, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on commitments.
- A proactive, self-starting approach and a demonstrated willingness to take ownership rather than wait for direction.
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work through unfamiliar challenges and develop practical solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and colleagues across different functions.
- Strong research, analytical, and information-gathering skills, with the ability to turn information into useful insights and actionable recommendations.
- Sound judgment, professionalism, discretion, and the ability to handle sensitive business information appropriately.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving environment where priorities can change and not every task comes with a predefined process.
- Willingness to get into the details, handle the practical work required, and see projects through to completion.
- Proficiency with common business software and project management tools.

A post-secondary education in business, management, science, engineering, or a related field would be an asset. Equivalent practical experience and demonstrated ability will also be considered.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

The Director brings organization and momentum to the executive team's priorities, anticipates needs, solves problems, and takes ownership of the work required to get things done.

The successful candidate will earn trust by being dependable, resourceful, proactive, and effective. They will become someone the CEO and executive team can rely on to take an initiative, understand what needs to happen, coordinate the right people, and drive it forward with minimal oversight.

This is an opportunity for an ambitious, action-oriented professional to work directly with senior leadership, gain broad exposure to the business, and make a tangible impact on Cypher Environmental’s continued growth.
