Owner/Operator AZ and Class 1, Driver Recruiter

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Talent Acquisition, the Owner/Operator Driver Recruiter plays a key role in supporting Canada Cartage’s growth by attracting and hiring top talent across the transportation sector.

Location: Mississauga, Ontario

Schedule: Monday to Friday (Day Shift)

Type: Full-time, Permanent

What you will do

- Manage full-cycle recruitment for owner/operator drivers across the business
- Source, screen, and assess candidates to ensure alignment with role requirements and company standards
- Partner closely with hiring managers and operations teams to understand hiring needs and priorities
- Build and maintain strong candidate pipelines
- Build strong relationships with Owner/Operators
- Track and report on key recruitment metrics such as time-to-fill, quality of hire, and turnover
- Contribute ideas to improve processes, candidate experience, and overall recruitment effectiveness

What You’ll Bring

- 3+ years of recruitment experience related to Driver recruitment, owner/operator recruitment or equivalent Transportation experience as a dispatcher and AZ driver and experience working with owner/operators, brokers, AZ drivers
- Exposure to knowledge of: CVOR, Driver Qualification files, commercial vehicle compliance; Insurance requirements, abstract and records; fuel surcharges, operating expenses




- Understanding of owner/operator pay structures and contracts

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume setting
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) in both French and English
- Strong relationship-building skills with candidates and internal stakeholders
- High level of organization, accountability, and sense of urgency
- Adaptability and problem-solving mindset
- Familiarity with ATS systems and recruitment tools is an asset
