Job Objective:

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all equipment at the plant and performs maintenance functions throughout the plant. They will be responsible for the entire maintenance program set out in the QA department and ensure it is maintained and up-to-date.

Responsibilities/Main Job Tasks:

- Repair and maintain all mechanical and electrical systems as well as plant machinery, such as frying machines, packing machines, plant equipment, processing equipment, and ancillary equipment (e.g., racks, conveyors, etc.).
- Perform regularly assigned checks.
- Keep logs up to date.
- Work closely with the QA department to ensure proper documentation is set up and up-to-date.
- Maintain and update the maintenance program with the QA department.
- Equipment repair, overhaul, and troubleshooting.
- Proper start-up and shut-down of plant equipment.
- Training personnel on how equipment works.
- Follow safety procedures for all work performed and instruct others in secure working habits.
- Actively practice and abide by all Company work, safety, and personal hygiene rules and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications:

- Experience in the food industry or associated products processing industry is an asset.
- Having an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Trade Certification is preferred.
- Be able to weld, chip, grind, and use all power tools safely.
- Physically demanding to be able to lift, push, and pull heavy items.




- Flexible working hours as work is required for any shift, any and all days of the week in accordance with production and maintenance schedules.
- Must be comfortable working in a cold work environment.
- Knowledge of industrial refrigeration systems, motors, and compressors.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, delegate, and follow up.
- Flexible working hours.
- Must have a G-class driver's license.
