Job Summary

As a farm worker, you will be responsible for supporting the cultivation, maintenance, and harvesting of crops, ensuring the farm runs smoothly and efficiently. This position offers a pleasant environment for individuals eager to work outdoors in all weather conditions and are skilled in the hands-on hands use of farm machinery and tools. sustainable farming practices.

Responsibilities

· Must be familiar with when and what to prune from the trees and the vineyards

· Proper procedures for planting nursery trees, ensuring they grow in an upright position and proper procedures for plant current vines in the vineyard,

· Removal of all dead trees and vines,

· Must be able to identify anything detrimental to the crop production and know the steps to take to correct the problem,

· Hoeing/cultivating around trees and vines

· Correct operation and care of the farm machinery, aware of any mechanical concerns that might arise

· Proper general maintenance of orchards and upkeep of grounds,

· Keeping the orchards and the vineyards clear of debris,





· Proper procedures for thinning and hand harvesting each variety of fruit as well as the vineyard,

· Irrigation procedures for the orchards and the vineyards

· Examining produce for quality, grading and preparing for Market

Experience

- Prior experience working in agriculture is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates
- Basic mechanical knowledge helpful for troubleshooting farm machinery and equipment
- Familiarity with irrigation systems, horticulture principles, and crop management is a plus
- Ability to operate power tools and heavy equipment safely and responsibly is an asset
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged outdoor work
- Willingness to learn new skills related to farm maintenance, machinery operation, etc. practices

Pay: $17.95 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 – 44.0 per week
