Overview

Discovery Child Care Inc. is engaging the Contractor to provide specialized French-language early childhood education services to children in the Sunflower Classroom, primarily consisting of children approximately 4–6 years of age, with a maximum group size of 12 children.

Qualifications The Contractor represents that they:

● hold a current Level 3 Early Childhood Educator certification recognized in Alberta;

● possess appropriate French-language proficiency and the knowledge and ability necessary to provide developmentally appropriate French-language instruction to young children;

● will maintain any certifications, screening documents, and other qualifications legally required to provide the contracted services

Scope of Services The Contractor will ordinarily provide one (1) 60-minute French instructional session per week, with a standard schedule of four (4) sessions per month, to the Sunflower Classroom.

Programming may include developmentally appropriate:

● conversational French;

● greetings and common expressions;

● vocabulary development;

● numbers, colours, shapes, and everyday concepts;

● stories and early literacy activities;

● music and movement;

● games and interactive learning activities; and

● activities supporting receptive and expressive French-language development.





The Contractor will independently prepare and deliver the French programming using their qualified knowledge, experience, and judgment.

Programming must remain developmentally appropriate and consistent with Discovery's educational philosophy, child-guidance practices, safety requirements, and applicable child-care requirements.

Compensation

Discovery will compensate the Contractor at a rate of:

$50.00 per completed 60-minute instructional session.

The standard service arrangement consists of four (4) sessions per month, which would result in standard monthly compensation of $200.00 when all four scheduled sessions are completed.

Any additional sessions requested by Discovery and accepted by the Contractor will be compensated at $50.00 per 60-minute session, unless otherwise agreed to in writing.

The $50.00 session rate includes reasonable lesson preparation and planning associated with the weekly French program.

The Contractor will submit an invoice to Discovery Child Care Inc. on a monthly basis for services provided.

Unless legally required otherwise, Discovery will not make payroll deductions for income tax, Canada Pension Plan contributions, Employment Insurance premiums, vacation pay, or other employee deductions.

Pay: $45.00-$55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1.0 per week
