Position Overview The Yard Helper / Drain Technician will assist with the preparation and processing of end-of-life vehicles by safely draining automotive fluids, supporting yard operations, and maintaining a clean, organized, and protected work environment. The successful candidate will be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and performing physically demanding tasks.

Key Responsibilities

- Safely drain and remove automotive fluids, including oil, coolant, transmission fluid, and other fluids, in accordance with established procedures
- Assist with the preparation and processing of end-of-life vehicles for recycling
- Identify, collect, and properly handle automotive fluids, batteries, and other designated materials in accordance with company procedures and applicable environmental requirements
- Maintain clean, organized,



and safe work areas throughout the yard and designated works stations
- Assist with general yard duties, including moving materials, sorting items and maintaining the organization of vehicles and parts.
- Follow all company health and safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices
- Assist other yard team members with daily operational tasks as required
- Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements

- Previous experience in an automotive recycling, mechanical or general labour environment is an asset
- Familiarity with automotive fluids and vehicle components is considered an asset
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, standing and working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Reliable transportation to and from work as Standard Auto Wreckers is not accessible by public transit.

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 – 44.0 per week
