We're looking for an ambitious, hands-on General Manager to take the lead in operating and growing an established landscape supply depot in Cobble Hill, BC.

Our business supplies landscape materials including soil, compost, bark mulch, decorative rock, gravel, aggregates, and other landscaping products to homeowners, landscapers, and contractors throughout the Cowichan Valley and surrounding communities.

With new ownership, we're entering an exciting phase of growth. Our vision is to expand our product offerings, strengthen customer relationships, improve operations, and build one of Vancouver Island's most recognized and successful landscape supply businesses.

What You'll Be Doing

Business Management & Growth

- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the landscape supply depot.
- Take responsibility for overall business performance, profitability, and growth.
- Develop relationships with contractors, landscapers, suppliers, and customers.
- Identify opportunities to introduce new products and expand our customer base.
- Help establish competitive pricing, purchasing strategies, and inventory levels.
- Work directly with ownership to develop and execute growth plans.

Operations & Equipment

- Operate wheel loaders, skid steers, and occasionally excavators as required.




- Coordinate material deliveries, loading, and yard organization.
- Manage inventory, product ordering, and supplier relationships.
- Maintain an organized, efficient, and professional-looking yard.
- Oversee equipment maintenance and general property upkeep.
- Ensure safe operations and a positive customer experience.

Team Leadership

- Hire, train, schedule, and supervise employees as the business grows.
- Lead by example and be willing to jump in wherever needed.
- Develop efficient systems and procedures to keep operations running smoothly.
- Build a positive, productive workplace culture.

Who We're Looking For Our ideal candidate is a practical, motivated, jack-of-all-trades leader who enjoys both operating equipment and running a business.

Ideal qualifications:

- Experience in landscape supplies, aggregates, construction materials, equipment operations, or a related industry.
- Comfortable operating wheel loaders and other heavy equipment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing staff, inventory, purchasing, or business operations.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- A strong work ethic and willingness to be hands-on.
- An entrepreneurial mindset with the confidence to make decisions independently.

Previous general management experience is an asset,



but we're equally interested in someone with strong industry knowledge, leadership potential, and the drive to succeed.
