Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented General Store Assistant to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, assist with product merchandising, and support daily store operations. Familiarity with POS systems a plus. Suitable for candidates with strong communication skills and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs
- Operate POS systems for transactions, including cash handling, processing payments and closing of till at the end of the shift
- Maintain organized merchandise displays and ensure products are well-stocked and properly labeled
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and offering product recommendations
- Manage inventory levels, perform stock replenishment, and assist with merchandising strategies
- Handle cashiering duties accurately, including cash handling and balancing registers at shift end




- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store environment to ensure a welcoming shopping experience
- Demonstrate time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy periods

Qualifications

- Robust communication skills in English
- Previous retail sales or customer service experience preferred; familiarity with merchandising, POS systems, and cash handling is a plus
- Basic math skills for transactions and inventory management
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple responsibilities
- Demonstrated time management skills to meet daily operational goals
