Professional Baking Experience Required for this position

Kerr Street Cafe is looking for a Baker/Pastry Chef to join our expanding team. We're a trendy cafe in the heart of Oakville's Kerr Village, serving brunch for over 10 years and catering the GTA/Muskoka for 20 years.

Kerr Street Cafe, Dont let the name fool you. We are a 60 seat restaurant thats fast pace as well a scratch kitchen. We're looking to hire a Head baker/pastry chef to join our growing team. We're looking for someone that specializes in making breads, pastries, squares, tarts, pies, etc. A good candidate is someone with experience looking to grow their skills, knowledge and is excited to be apart of an expanding team and Kerr Street Cafe & Catering.

Some of the duties and responsibilities will be as follows:

- baking fresh scones, muffin, bread, pastries, loaves as well as custom creations in the mornings before cafe opens
- mini pastries, platers and specialty desserts for catering all events
- maintaining restaurant dessert menu.



Focusing on seasonal produce and availability.
- creating and planning specials for catering and the cafe. Weekly meetings with executive chef to plan and organize future menu items and weekly specials
- maintaining a clean work environment, positive attitude, communicating well with other staff members and customers when in the shops

Professional baking experience or pastry chef experience is a must. Must be ok to work early morning shifts.

Minimum 40 hours weekly (4 days a week 10 hours shifts)

We are looking to hire 2 full time pastry chefs (Sunday to Wednesday availability and Wednesday to Saturday availability)

Job Types: Full time, Permanent

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
