As a Casual Healthcare Security Officer at Miramichi Regional Hospital, you will help create a safe, welcoming, and secure setting for patients, healthcare workers, and visitors. In your day-to-day work, you will:

- Conduct regular patrols of hospital grounds, patient care areas, entrances, and parking lots to prevent safety hazards and unauthorized access.

- Monitor security systems, access controls, and surveillance cameras to identify potential safety risks promptly.

- Respond calmly and effectively to medical emergencies, fire alarms, security calls, and crisis situations.

- Use verbal de-escalation and conflict resolution skills to handle challenging interactions safely and respectfully.

- Assist patients, visitors, and hospital staff with directions, facility policies, and general inquiries.

- Write transparent, accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation.

- Work alongside hospital staff and local emergency services when coordinated security responses are required.

Over time, you will:

- Become a trusted presence within Miramichi Regional Hospital, known for consistent sound judgment and dependability.

- Master facility protocols and emergency procedures,



allowing you to handle complex security situations smoothly.

Pay and Schedule Details

- Pay Rate: $21.60 per hour (overtime rate applies after 44 hours).

- Employment Type: Casual / As Needed (variable shifts based on operational requirements).

- Work Location: Miramichi Regional Hospital, Miramichi, NB.

What You Need to Succeed

Must-Have Requirements:

- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

- Legal authorization to work in Canada.

- Fluency in spoken and written English.

- Availability to work flexible, casual shifts based on hospital needs.

- Required medical documentation: proof of two COVID-19 vaccine doses, immunization records (Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella), and results of a 2-step Tuberculosis (TB) skin test.

- Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) and Use of Force (UOF) certifications, OR willingness to complete prerequisite training prior to start (training costs are covered in exchange for a 6-month commitment).

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

- Prior experience in security, law enforcement, customer service, or healthcare support settings.
