GAP Trucking Ltd. is looking for a skilled, reliable, and motivated Heavy-Duty Mechanic or Heavy-Duty Transport Mechanic to join our team in Lennox Passage, Nova Scotia.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has strong mechanical skills, and is committed to keeping our trucks, trailers, and equipment safe, reliable, and road ready.

Job Responsibilities

- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and transport equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and routine servicing.
- Repair and maintain diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and steering systems.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, and air brake systems.
- Identify mechanical issues and complete repairs in a timely and efficient manner.
- Perform safety inspections and ensure equipment meets applicable standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and document all repairs.
- Keep tools, equipment, and the shop clean, organized, and safe.

Qualifications

- A mechanic’s certificate in heavy-duty mechanics,



truck and transport mechanics, or a related field.
- Experience working on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and diesel-powered equipment.
- Strong mechanical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, and electrical systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and committed to quality workmanship.
- Valid driver's license.
