Reporting to the Fleet Manager, the Heavy Equipment Mechanic performs duties and tasks related to the preventative and corrective maintenance of a variety of construction equipment and vehicles. Performs preventative and corrective maintenance by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing all systems associated with heavy equipment and vehicles (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic) Inspect and test repaired equipment to ensure work meets operational performance and safety standards Evaluate equipment parts for reuse, repair or replacement Occasional travel to job sites to assist field mechanics on large jobs Discuss preventative techniques with drivers/operators to minimize future repairs Relevant experience with heavy equipment Excellent diagnostic skills and technical aptitude Reading,
