We are seeking a proactive and organized Human Resources and Health & Safety Lead to drive key human resource functions while championing occupational health and safety across the organization. This role is ideal for a collaborative professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, builds strong employee relationships, and is passionate about maintaining a safe, compliant, and positive workplace culture. Combining HR expertise with exceptional interpersonal skills, you will play a vital role in shaping the employee experience from onboarding to day-to-day engagement and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

Human Resources

- Coordinate recruitment activities including job postings, interview scheduling, and onboarding
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
- Assist with benefits administration and employee programs
- Support performance management and employee relations initiatives
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, policies, and procedures
- Coordinate employee training and development activities
- Assist with HR reporting and audits

Health & Safety




- Support occupational health and safety programs and initiatives
- Coordinate new hire safety orientation and training records
- Assist with incident reporting, investigations, and corrective action tracking
- Administer worker’s compensation claims and return-to-work documentation
- Maintain health and safety records and compliance documentation
- Assist with workplace inspections and safety communications

Qualifications

- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in an HR Generalist or HR Coordinator role
- Experience supporting occupational health & safety programs is an asset
- Working knowledge of employment and compliance standards in the provinces we operate (i.e. Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, New Brunswick, PEI)
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Dayforce systems
- Prior experience or knowledge within agriculture and warehousing considered an asset
