About the Position:

As a Production Assistant at Glenburn you will play a vital role in our ice cream production process. Your responsibilities will include assisting with the preparation of ingredients, operating equipment, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has a passion for food, and is eager to learn about the art of ice cream making.

Key Responsibilities:

Ingredient Preparation: Assist in measuring, mixing, and preparing ingredients for ice cream production, following recipes and safety standards.

Production Support: Operate ice cream machine to make ice cream under the guidance of the head ice cream maker, ensuring each batch is the highest quality. Preparing inclusions and sauces as needed to prepare the ice creams and novelties.

Quality Control: Monitor the production process to maintain quality standards, including taste testing and texture checks. Ensuring pull dates are being monitored and all ingredients are valuable quality.

Sanitation and Maintenance: Keep the production area clean and organized, following all health and safety regulations. Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of equipment and cleanup at the end of each production day.

Inventory Management: Help track and manage inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages. Restocking and reordering as necessary. Packing and displaying all products to Glenburn standards.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth production flow and support during busy periods. This position may interface with our Baker and Front of House staff on a typical day.





Qualifications:

Experience: Prior experience in food production or kitchen environments is a plus, but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate. Comfort with measuring, food preparation (even if it is only in a home kitchen) and knowledge of ingredients common to a dessert kitchen is desired.

Skills: Food Safe Level 1 and an eagerness to learn about ice cream production.

Ability to work unsupervised and complete tasks within allotted timelines.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods. Must be comfortable working with frozen products. This is a very physical job involving carrying ice cream buckets, mixing batches of ice cream and loading and unloading deliveries.

Availability: Some version of these hours - Tuesday 8am - 3pm, Thursday - 8am - 3pm and Sunday, 8am - 3pm. Some flexibility is possible for the right candidate.
