Decker Lake Forest Products is seeking a Journey Level Electrician to join our maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated, safety-focused tradesperson who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and takes pride in maintaining equipment reliability and operational excellence.

As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment throughout our sawmill and planer operations. You will work closely with maintenance, production, and management personnel to support safe, efficient, and reliable mill operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical, control, and automation systems.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on mill equipment.
- Install, maintain, and upgrade electrical equipment and systems.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, VFDs, motors, sensors, and control circuits.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimize production downtime.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records through work order and maintenance management systems.
- Participate in planning and scheduling maintenance activities.
- Work safely and ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures.




- Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to improve equipment reliability and operational performance.

Qualifications

Required

- Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician Certification.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Commitment to safe work practices.

Preferred

- Minimum three (3) years of experience in an industrial electrical maintenance role.
- Experience in sawmill, planer, lumber manufacturing, or other heavy industrial operations.
- Experience with:
- Allen-Bradley PLCs
- Allen-Bradley and Mitsubishi VFDs
- Industrial networking and IT communications
- Automated manufacturing equipment and control systems
- Experience utilizing computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
