Lead Carpenter - Structural Framing
Crown Structural - Toronto & GTA | Full-time | $30-$38/hr based on experience
Crown Structural is a small GTA team that opens up homes: removing load-bearing walls and installing steel and LVL beams. We do careful, precise structural work.
This is not just a framing job. You'll be trained to take over running our job sites from the owner within a few months, and eventually to lead the crew. There's a clear path to site supervisor / foreman, with a raise as you take over.
What you'll do
- Plan job scope and the sequence of work
- Cross-check architectural and structural/engineering drawings
- Measure, lay out and mark
- Do material takeoffs, order materials and sometimes pick them up
- Work hands-on: demo, prep, temporary shoring, beam and post installs, framing
- Keep the site safe, clean and on schedule
You run the job sites, not client relations. No dealing with homeowners; possibly working with other contractors in the future.
What we're looking for
- 2+ years framing / rough carpentry experience
- Working at Heights training (required)
- 403A General Carpenter apprentice or certificate (preferred)
- Reading engineering drawings is a strong bonus, but not required. We'll teach it.
- A leader and a doer: you set the pace and pick up the tools
- Coachable, positive and eager to learn
The details
- Full-time, 8 AM-4 PM. Being honest: work isn't guaranteed every single day. Some days depend on job schedules,
inspections and weather.
- Job sites across the GTA. Own transportation required.
- Own tools optional; company tools available.
- Must have your own steel-toe boots, gloves and safety glasses.
- Paid trial shift, then immediate start.
To apply: email
[email protected] with "Lead Carpenter" in the subject line. Include a short note on your experience and what you're looking for, and a resume if you have one. Pay: $30.00-$38.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
