Asbestos Guard - Level 1 / Level 2 Asbestos Abatement Worker

Asbestos Guard is currently hiring a Level 1 / Level 2 Asbestos Abatement Worker for an immediate opening.

We are looking for a dependable, safety-focused individual with experience working in asbestos abatement and hazardous-material remediation. The successful candidate will work as part of our field crew on residential and commercial projects throughout the Greater Victoria area.

This is a hands-on position that requires strong attention to safety, proper use of PPE, and the ability to follow established WorkSafeBC procedures and company protocols.

Responsibilities

-Perform Level 1 and Level 2 asbestos abatement work.

-Assist with asbestos containment setup and dismantling.

-Remove asbestos-containing materials in accordance with approved procedures.

-Use appropriate PPE and respiratory protection at all times.

-Operate HEPA vacuums, negative-air equipment, and other remediation equipment.

-Properly bag, label, handle, and prepare hazardous waste for disposal.

-Assist with decontamination procedures and maintain clean work areas.

-Follow site-specific work procedures and safety plans.

-Assist supervisors and Level 3 workers with larger or higher-risk projects.

-Complete daily job-site cleanup.

-Load, unload, and organize tools, equipment, and materials.

-Maintain equipment in clean and working condition.

-Follow company policies, safety procedures, and WorkSafeBC requirements.

-Be available for occasional overtime, evenings, or weekends when project schedules require it.

Qualifications

-Valid Level 1 and/or Level 2 asbestos abatement certification.

-Previous asbestos abatement or hazardous-material remediation experience preferred.

-Knowledge of asbestos containment, PPE, respiratory protection, and decontamination procedures.

-Ability to safely work in respirators and protective clothing for extended periods.





-Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, bending, and working in confined or restricted areas.

-Valid driver's licence preferred.

-Reliable transportation.

-Valuable attendance and punctuality.

-Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

-Ability to follow instructions and maintain a professional attitude on customer properties.

-Additional experience with lead or mould remediation is considered an asset.

Pay: $30.00-$32.43 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
