We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Optician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service while assisting patients with their eyewear needs. This position requires a strong understanding of optical products and services, as well as the ability to work effectively in a retail environment.
The Optician will be responsible for fitting, adjusting, and dispensing eyewear, ensuring that each patient receives personalized attention and care.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their prescription and lifestyle needs.
- Perform fittings and adjustments of eyeglasses and contact lenses to ensure proper fit and comfort.
- Provide education to patients on the proper care and use of eyewear.
- Maintain an organized display of optical products, ensuring that inventory is well-stocked and visually appealing.
- Utilize optical equipment to measure patients' visual acuity and assess lens options.
- Collaborate with optometrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Process orders for eyewear and manage patient records using relevant software systems.
- Stay updated on industry trends,
current products, and advancements in optical technology.
Skills
- Proficiency in medical terminology related to eye care.
- Experience in retail sales, with a focus on customer service excellence.
- Familiarity with Epic or similar electronic health record systems is a plus.
- Strong background in retail management or optical sales preferred.
- Knowledge of laboratory processes related to eyewear production is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
