Railway Car Technician REPORTS TO: Supervisor, Equipment Maintenance Rail Mechanical RATE OF PAY: $40.55 per hour Ontario Northland Transportation Commission (ONTC) is an Agency of the Province of Ontario that provides efficient and vital transportation services. Railway Car

Technicians inspect, maintain, repair, and remanufacture railway passenger cars, freight cars and their components Inspects, troubleshoots, repairs and tests rail car equipment Performs preventative maintenance work Uses hand tools and various testing devices and instruments Operate equipment such as overhead or mobile cranes and forklifts to assist with assignments Adapts to new methods, processes, material and equipment May work various shifts and on weekends and some work outdoors in adverse weather High School Diploma (OSSD) or General Education Diploma (GED)



Certificate of Qualification as Railway Car Technician 268R or within final year of apprenticeship in the same identified trade Available for shift work The successful candidate will need to pass the following clearances: criminal record check, employment references and education verification.
