We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on Service Manager to launch our Mississauga, ON branch, deliver outstanding service in the field, and build and lead our technician team as the branch grows.
Job Summary
This is a hands-on role. You’ll start as the branch’s service manager and initially its only field technician, delivering services yourself while setting up the routes, processes, and quality standards for the branch. As the branch grows, you’ll recruit and train a technician team and move into a full service management role leading it. You’ll also serve as the branch’s licensed exterminator in charge, with full ownership over how the team, routes, and service standards get built.
Responsibilities
Starting day one (hands-on field work):
- Perform pest control services in the field as the branch’s lead technician, delivering high-quality work and an outstanding customer experience
- Complete accurate service records and work orders for every job in line with the Ontario Pesticides Act and O. Reg. 63/09
- Safely handle, store, and transport pesticides, including vehicle, storage, and signage requirements
- Maintain service equipment and the branch vehicle
- Serve as the branch’s licensed exterminator in charge, on-site every business day, and be named as such with the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP)
- Handle customer questions and escalations on site
As the team grows:
- Recruit, train, and develop technicians; conduct ride-alongs and quality checks
- Supervise technicians and trainees in line with the Pesticides Act, including reviewing and signing work orders and providing direct supervision where required
- Manage day-to-day scheduling, routing, and dispatch
- Monitor and improve service quality, customer retention, and technician performance metrics
- Manage inventory, equipment, and fleet maintenance for the branch
- Collaborate with sales and leadership on branch growth strategy and staffing needs
- Track and report on KPIs including route density, callback rates, and customer satisfaction
Qualifications
- Valid Ontario Exterminator Licence, Structural class (required)
- Willingness to be named as the branch’s licensed exterminator in charge on the company’s operator licence application
- 2+ years of hands-on pest control technician experience, including lead technician, supervisory, or service manager experience (required)
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence (Class G) with a clean driving record
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, early-stage setting
- Ability to perform physical field work, including lifting equipment and chemical containers and working outdoors in varying weather
Preferred
- Mosquito/Biting Flies class on the Ontario Exterminator Licence
- Termite class on the Ontario Exterminator Licence
- Experience supervising technicians as a licensed exterminator
What We Offer
- Start hands-on in the field and grow into leading the team as the branch scales, with full ownership over how the routes and service standards get built
- Base salary of $40,000–$60,000 CAD per year, plus a performance bonus structure tied to branch growth (specific structure to be shared during the interview process)
- Direct earning upside as the branch scales. This role’s compensation grows alongside what you build here
