Overview

At Alliance Agri-Turf, the Plant Manager oversees our fertilizer blending facility, warehouse and yard in Lindsay. Working closely with management, this role ensures fertilizer is blended accurately, inventory is maintained, and customer orders are completed safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on position for someone with strong operational and leadership skills who takes ownership, leads by example and is directly involved in the day-to-day operation.

Full-time, hourly and overtime eligible.

Core Responsibilities

- Plant & Yard Operations: Oversee daily fertilizer blending, receiving, warehouse and yard activities to keep production moving.
- Blending System: Operate and become proficient with the AGI/Yargus blending system, including controls, alarms and basic troubleshooting.
- Production Monitoring: Monitor production volume, blending accuracy, inventory, turnaround times and equipment performance.
- Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate equipment maintenance, identify issues and help minimize downtime. Assist in the shop with rolling stock maintenance.
- Safety & Facility Standards: Maintain a safe, clean and organized facility.
- Customer Orders: Support customer service and ensure orders are completed accurately and on time.
- Communication: Communicate operational needs, challenges and opportunities to management.
- Off-Season Leadership: Provide day-to-day direction to yard staff and keep the team productive through maintenance, organization, repairs and seasonal preparation.

Qualifications





- Experience in agricultural retail, fertilizer, manufacturing, warehousing, bulk materials or a related operational environment
- Leadership or supervisory experience
- Mechanical aptitude and confidence learning computerized equipment; able to troubleshoot basic equipment errors and recognize when additional support is needed
- Solid organizational, communication and problem-solving skills, with a proactive, self-directed approach during quieter periods
- Valid driver's licence
- Assets: fertilizer blending experience, AGI/Yargus system experience, DZ licence and forklift experience

Working Conditions

- Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and work indoors and outdoors, including around machinery, dust, ladders and elevated areas
- Spring (April–June) and fall (approximately September 20–November 1) are the busiest periods; extended hours, evenings, weekends and holidays may be required
- During the off-season, leads yard activities, maintenance and facility preparation while keeping employees engaged and productive

- Fertilizer is blended accurately and customer orders are completed safely, accurately and on time
- Inventory is maintained and equipment downtime is minimized
- The facility, warehouse and yard are safe, clean and organized
- Yard staff stay engaged and productive through the off-season
- The plant and team are ready to deliver for our customers each season

Pay: $26.00-$30.00 per hour
