Company Overview

Cyntek Industrial is part of Cyntek Group, a boutique engineering firm with a 15-year track record delivering innovative automation solutions across the CPG, transportation, and industrial sectors. Alongside our automation work, we provide owner's-side project management for industrial capital projects: facility fit-outs, relocations, and process equipment installations.

We are a small, high-performing team that succeeds by hiring smart, driven, exceptional people and giving them the freedom to do great work.

The Chance

We are looking for a Project Manager to join our capital projects team. You will work alongside our engineering lead on a multi-million-dollar heavy industrial facility relocation in the GTA. The project includes overhead cranes on new foundations, process equipment and pits, paint and wash facilities, and full mechanical and electrical services. It runs through permits, construction, the equipment move, and occupancy in 2027.

Our engineering lead runs the project, sets the design basis, and makes the technical calls. You'll share the delivery load. You will own the schedule, cost tracking, procurement administration and approvals tracking, and coordinate the site day to day. As you grow into the role, you'll take the lead on more of the project, with a path to running capital projects of your own.

Key Responsibilities

Project Controls

- Maintain the CPM schedule in MS Project. Update progress, track the critical path, and flag recovery options early.
- Manage cost tracking: commitments, purchase orders, change orders, and the cash flow forecast.
- Coordinate weekly meetings with client leadership, consultants, and contractors. Issue minutes and drive actions to close.
- Manage document control: transmittals, drawing and document registers, and revision tracking.

- Prepare status reports for client executives together with the engineering lead.

Procurement & Contracts

- Prepare scopes of work and RFQs with the engineering lead, compare quotes, and recommend awards.
- Manage POs, invoicing, holdbacks, and change orders through the client's purchasing process.

Approvals & Stakeholders

- Coordinate permit submissions with the architect, engineers, and code consultant. The engineering lead sets the strategy.
- Track landlord, municipal, utility, and regulatory approvals (TSSA, ESA, MECP, gas and electrical utilities) and pre-start health and safety reviews.
- Serve as the day-to-day contact for consultants and contractors.

Site & Construction

- Lead day-to-day site coordination: contractor access and sequencing in an occupied building, safety, inspections, and deficiencies.
- Coordinate the equipment relocation with riggers and client operations.
- Coordinate closeout: commissioning, deficiencies, as-builts, O&M; manuals, and occupancy.
- Review drawings for coordination issues and scope gaps, and raise them with the engineering lead
