About Us

Onyx Construction Group is a growing Calgary-based renovation and construction company specializing in basement developments, legal basement suites, residential renovations, and commercial construction projects.

We're expanding our sales team and looking for an ambitious, experienced Sales Consultant who knows how to build relationships, earn customers' trust, and close high-value renovation projects.

We provide qualified leads and booked consultations. Your job is to turn those opportunities into signed contracts.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated sales professional looking for uncapped earning potential without spending their entire day cold calling.

What You'll Be Doing

- Conduct in-home consultations with homeowners interested in basement developments and renovations.
- Understand customer needs, budgets, timelines, and project expectations.
- Build relationships with prospective customers and guide them through the renovation process.
- Present detailed estimates and proposals prepared by our estimating team.
- Explain project scope, pricing, timelines, and the value of working with Onyx.
- Handle customer questions, objections, and negotiations professionally.
- Follow up consistently with prospective customers until a decision is made.
- Convert qualified opportunities into signed construction contracts.
- Maintain accurate customer information and sales activity in our CRM.
- Develop referral relationships with realtors, mortgage brokers, designers, and other industry professionals.

- Work closely with our administrative and construction teams to ensure a smooth customer experience.

Compensation We offer a performance-driven compensation structure:

3% commission on company-provided leads.

5% commission on self-generated leads.

Examples based on a $65,000 basement development:

- Company-provided project: $1,950 commission
- Self-generated project: $3,250 commission
- 3 company-provided projects per month: $5,850 commission
- 4 company-provided projects per month: $7,800 commission

There is no cap on commissions. Applicable guaranteed compensation and commission terms will be outlined in the employment agreement in accordance with Alberta employment standards.

Who We're Looking For

- Proven experience in sales, preferably residential renovations, construction,



roofing, HVAC, windows, kitchens, or other high-ticket home improvement services.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and closing skills.
- Confidence conducting in-home sales consultations.
- Ability to build trust and explain the value of a premium service.
- Self-motivated, organized, and results-driven.
- Comfortable managing multiple opportunities and following up consistently.
- Experience using CRM software.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.
- Available for occasional evening or weekend appointments when required.

Experience selling basement developments or residential renovations is a strong asset.

What Success Looks Like

We're looking for someone who takes ownership of the sales pipeline, follows up relentlessly but professionally, and consistently converts qualified opportunities into signed contracts.

Our initial goal is to achieve 3–4 signed basement development contracts per month while maintaining excellent customer satisfaction.
