Responsibilities

- Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting pet products, supplies, and accessories tailored to their needs
- Conduct engaging product demonstrations and provide detailed information about pet care items, including food, toys, and health products
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process transactions swiftly and efficiently
- Handle cash, credit card payments, and perform cash handling duties with integrity and attention to detail
- Maintain organized merchandising displays to highlight featured products and ensure the store remains inviting and well-stocked
- Offer knowledgeable advice on pet nutrition, grooming, and general care to enhance customer satisfaction




- Upsell complementary products by identifying customer needs and promoting relevant items to increase sales opportunities
- Manage phone inquiries professionally, providing information about store hours, product availability, or directing calls appropriately
- Support inventory management through stock replenishment and accurate record keeping of sales transactions
- lifting up to 40lbs

Experience

- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for pets is essential!
- Technical sales experience involving product demos or explaining features to customers will be highly valued
- Bilingual skills are a plus to serve our diverse customer base effectively
- Strong communication skills combined with excellent organizational abilities will help you succeed in this fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills are necessary for cash handling and transaction accuracy
- Experience with merchandising, POS systems, or retail operations enhances your ability to excel in this role
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly attitude and phone etiquette are key to building lasting relationships with customers

Pay: From $17.60 per hour
