Job Overview

South Vancouver Neighbourhood House is seeking an energetic, compassionate, and experienced School Age Support Educator to work collaboratively with a child requiring support in a licensed and inclusive school care program.

Role and Responsibilities

- To be a part of a team that works with children ages 5-12 in a licensed school age care.
- To guide and support a child with special needs.
- To provide positive and effective guidance and supervision.
- To collaborate with the program team to plan, evaluate and implement inclusive programming that is reflective of the child’s interests and needs.
- To work in partnership with the program team and child’s family, consultant and school team in developing, evaluating and implementing the child’s care plan.

Qualifications and Skills

- Passion in working with children with varying abilities in an inclusive setting.




- Minimum 2 years of experience working with school age children requiring support.

- ECE License to Practice or 20 hours or Responsible Adult Training or equivalent required.
- Special Needs ECE License to Practice or equivalent training and experience.
- Valid First Aid, clear Criminal Record and immunization record upon hire required.

- Sound knowledge of child development and inclusive practice.
- Able to work in partnership with the families, consultants, and school team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Pay: $24.56-$26.31 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 per week
