Little Lemons Skating is seeking enthusiastic, patient, and dependable Volunteer Skating Coaches to join our growing team!

Our Learn to Skate program is designed for children ages 3–12, focusing on developing foundational skating skills, building confidence, and creating a positive experience on the ice.

As a Volunteer Skating Coach, you will work alongside our Head Coach and experienced coaching team to assist with skating lessons, skill development, games, and activities tailored to each child's age and ability.

Our coaching philosophy emphasizes patience, encouragement, safety, and learning through play. We strive to provide a welcoming, supportive environment where every child feels comfortable, confident, and excited to learn.

This volunteer chance is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children, have a passion for skating, and are interested in gaining hands-on coaching experience in a supportive team environment.

Volunteer Skating Coach – Roles & Responsibilities

Skating Instruction & Skill Development

- Assist the Head Coach and Lead Coaches in delivering structured skating lessons.




- Support children ages 3–12 across various skating levels.
- Help teach foundational skating skills, including balance, falling and getting up safely, forward skating, stopping, gliding, and introductory backward skating.
- Provide individual encouragement and assistance to children who require additional support.
- Participate in skating drills, circuits, and interactive games that promote learning through play.

Volunteer Coach – Qualifications & Requirements Skating Experience & Qualifications

- Minimum of 1–2 years of figure skating or hockey experience.
- Must be comfortable and confident skating independently.
- Demonstrate basic skating skills, including forward skating, backward skating, stopping, turning, and maintaining balance.
- Previous coaching or teaching experience is an asset but not required.
- Willingness to learn and follow Little Lemons' coaching methods and lesson plans.

Pay: $15.00 per hour Expected hours: 1.0 per week
