Senior Accountant Port Coquitlam, BC | $100,000–$120,000 Benefits Full-Time | In-Office DMC Recruitment is partnering with an established building products fabrication and installation company in Port Coquitlam to find an experienced, hands-on Senior Accountant .

This is an opportunity to take ownership of the finance function within a well-established, privately owned business.

Working directly with the ownership team, you'll play an important role in strengthening financial reporting, improving job costing visibility and providing the financial insight needed to support business decisions. We're looking for someone who enjoys being involved in the day-to-day accounting but can also step back, look at the numbers and help leadership understand what's happening in the business.

The Opportunity As Senior Accountant, you'll oversee the accounting function, working alongside an experienced accounting professional while taking ownership of financial reporting, month-end close, job costing and year-end preparation. This isn't a role where you'll simply produce financial statements.

The leadership team wants someone who can identify trends, challenge costs, recognize margin pressures and bring forward recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee full-cycle accounting, including AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations and financial reporting. Prepare monthly financial statements, cash flow forecasts and management reporting. Monitor project costs, work-in-progress (WIP), job profitability and margins.

Work closely with operations and project teams on budgets, progress billing and statutory holdbacks. Manage payroll, government remittances, Work SafeBC reporting and compliance.



Lead year-end preparation and coordinate with external accountants for the annual Review Engagement.

Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting and financial systems. Provide ownership with meaningful financial analysis and recommendations to support business growth. What We're Looking For 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including responsibility for month-end close and financial statements.

Experience in construction, manufacturing, fabrication, building materials or a related project-based business. Strong understanding of job costing, WIP, progress billing and holdbacks.

Hands-on experience with Canadian payroll and full-cycle accounting. Proficiency with Sage 50 or a comparable accounting system and advanced Excel skills. Experience developing or improving financial reporting for management. CPA designation or an accounting/business degree with equivalent practical experience.

Compensation:
