Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Welder Helper for work in the Moose Jaw area to support our manufacturing and construction teams. This role involves assisting skilled welders with various tasks related to fabrication, assembly, and maintenance of feed lot pens. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in welding, mechanical systems, and construction processes, with a focus on safety and quality.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

- Assist welders with setup, positioning, and rigging of materials.
- Support MIG and TIG welding operations by preparing materials and holding components as needed
- Operate power tools, hand tools, and machining equipment such as plasma cutters.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for assembly and fabrication tasks
- Measure components accurately using calipers, tape measures, and other precision tools.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and proper handling of materials
- Support the use of skid steers and other equipment for material movement around the worksite




- Assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues related to welding or fabrication equipment

Requirements

- Basic mechanical knowledge with familiarity in manufacturing or construction environments
- Experience or training in MIG welding, TIG welding, plasma cutting, or related welding techniques is preferred
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, machining equipment, and skid steers safely
- Strong attention to detail with positive math skills for measurements and calculations
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively as part of a team
- Prior experience with construction projects is advantageous
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods during shifts
