In Kindergarten classrooms, a teacher and an early childhood educator (ECE) share the responsibility to work together to plan and implement a developmentally appropriate educational program for Kindergarten aged children. QUALIFICATIONS Two-year ECE Diploma and proof of registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators; Minimum of 1 to 3 years childcare experience in a childcare or educational setting; Knowledge of Ministry of Education full day early learning program and related legislation; Proven ability,



experience and skill in working as a member of a team; Proven abilityto communicate in a sensitive, courteous manner with children, parents, staff and the public; Proven commitment to maintaining confidentiality; Proven abilityto effectively manage classroom behavioural concerns, and emergency situations; Experience planning and implementing emergent curriculum, play-based and child-driven environments; Basic computerskills, strong organization and time management skills and ability to meet deadlines; Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and move/carry equipment for program, and must be able to physically assist children as required (e.G. lifting); Ability to communicate fluently in English and French ; and A CatholicPastoral reference is required.
