This position plays a vital role in supporting the educational mission of our school by fostering a positive, healthy, and secure setting for students, staff, and visitors.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise and coordinate custodial staff and daily cleaning operationsMaintain high standards of cleanliness and safety throughout the facilityPerform daily building and systems checksConduct minor maintenance and repairs on furniture and equipmentEnsure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulationsManage custodial supplies and equipmentSupport event setup/takedown and furniture movesPerform seasonal tasks such as snow removal and outdoor maintenanceMonitor and test facility security and fire alarm systemsComplete administrative tasks including timesheets, training records,



and reportsSubmit service requests using facilities asset management softwareProject a positive image of the school and divisionPerform other duties as assigned by the Custodial SupervisorWhat We're Looking ForHigh school diploma or equivalentValid WHMIS, First Aid, and CPR certifications (or willingness to obtain)5th Class ABSA certificate may be necessary, (possess it or willingness to obtain within 1 year of employment)Minimum 6 months of supervisory experience in custodial or building maintenanceStrong knowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment, and safety regulationsMechanical aptitude and understanding of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical)Ability to operate custodial equipment and hand toolsBasic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Outlook)Effective communication, leadership, and organizational skillsMaintain effective communication and positive working relationships with a wide range of individuals, including principals, vice principals, teachers, students, parents, and school visitors, demonstrating professionalism, courtesy, and a positive attitude at all times.Physically capable of lifting, bending, climbing, and standing for extended periodsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPolice Information Check with Vulnerable Sector and pre-employment testing requiredOur ValuesWe are committed to upholding the values of: CompassionHonourCuriosityCourage.
