The team owns the growth engine that connects cardholder behavior to relevant offers, builds the intelligence layer for partner cards, and moves Commerce from a travel vendor to a strategic card partner. We are looking for a staff software engineer skilled in building high‑quality products and adept at orchestration of AI agents to accelerate delivery. You will ship end‑to‑end features, collaborate with senior engineers, and shape the direction of AI‑powered development. Tech Stack Backend: Scala, GCP services Frontend: React + TypeScript We value stack‑agnostic thinking. Experience in Go, Python, Java, or other languages is welcome if you can learn quickly. Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities Identify and implement improvements to the codebase that enable fast, safe shipping for both humans and AI agents. Collaborate with senior engineers in a low‑process, trust‑based setting. Drive decisions and build consensus asynchronously through thoughtful documentation and specifications. Own features end‑to‑end, primarily on the backend, while using AI tooling across the stack as needed. Architect scalable solutions and foundational patterns for new partner experiences. Work directly with product managers and business partners to refine the roadmap and provide technical vision.
