We're locally owned, locally operated, and have built our reputation one customer at a time.We're now looking for an Accountant who wants more than a traditional accounting role.You'll take meaningful ownership of day-to-day accounting and financial reporting while also helping us improve how the work gets done — from strengthening processes and reporting to exploring automation, AI-enabled tools, and better use of financial and operational data.You'll work directly with our Director of Finance and have the opportunity to make an impact without several layers between you and the decisions.What You'll Be DoingYou'll be responsible for the core accounting work, but we also want someone who naturally looks for a better way to do things.Your responsibilities will include:Managing general ledger activity and maintaining accurate financial recordsPreparing journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting schedulesSupporting and taking ownership of month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activitiesPreparing monthly and quarterly HST filings and supporting other compliance requirementsAnalyzing financial results and helping identify trends, discrepancies and opportunities for improvementDeveloping and improving internal financial reports, dashboards and management reportingReviewing existing accounting workflows and identifying opportunities to simplify, automate or improve themUsing Excel and other technology to organize,



analyze and present financial and operational dataExploring practical uses of AI and automation tools within Finance — including reporting, reconciliations, documentation, data analysis and repeatable administrative processesWorking with data from multiple business systems and helping improve how information flows between themExperience with Payroll and related HR/finance administration as required (ADP experience preferred)Working directly with the Director of Finance on financial priorities, projects and process improvementsThis is not a role where we expect you to simply follow the same process because "that's how it has always been done." We want someone who is comfortable asking whether there is a faster, cleaner or smarter way.What We're Looking ForYou'll likely be a strong fit if you have:A university degree or college diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related fieldAt least 3 years of full-cycle accounting experienceStrong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations and month-end processesExperience with accounting software and strong Microsoft Excel skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under deadlinesThe judgment and professionalism required to handle confidential financial and employee informationA willingness to take ownership, investigate discrepancies and follow issues through to resolutionExtra points if you have experience with:Power Query, Power BI or advanced Excel reportingSQL,



database queries or working directly with larger datasetsConnecting or reconciling information across different business systemsCreating dashboards or management reportingWorkflow automation & AI tooling experienceBuilding or improving processes using AI or automationAccounting systems implementations, integrations or process improvement projectsYou don't need to be a software developer or AI expert.
