Personal Injury Clerk$60,000 - $70,000 - Salary is based on experienceOur client is seeking an experienced and motivated legal professional to join their team as a Personal Injury Law Clerk.DutiesCommunicate with lawyers, team members, clients, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projectsPrepare and receive correspondence with clients, counsel, experts, and other professionalsRequest, obtain, review, organize, analyze, and serve medical records and other productionsObtain, review, and organize damage informationArrange for the payment of invoices pertaining to the records requests madeSchedule discoveries, mediation, and other pertinent eventsMaintain files and ensure the file is complete and updated using established firm programs and policiesAs necessary and appropriate, communicate with medical personnel and others involved in the patient's careDraft legal documents including pleadings and motions, affidavits, affidavit of documents, and trial records; file motions and pleadings according to judicial proceduresWhere appropriate,



prepare medical chronologiesAssist lawyers with trial preparationRecord billable hours spent on specific casesOther duties as required.QualificationsA minimum of 7 years of experience in personal injury lawExperience in an office.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook with excellent keyboarding and grammar skills.The ability and desire to work independently and seamlessly transition through a variety of different initiatives and timelines.Ability to manage multiple priorities while being well organized and thorough with outstanding attention to detail.Excellent interpersonal and client service skills.Excellent command of the English language is essential.French verbal skills would be considered an asset.Legal Assistant/Law Clerk diploma/certificate an asset.Working knowledge of (i) applicable statutes (OBCA, CBCA, etc.) and business name and registration processes and statutes; (ii) maintenance of corporate records including minute books and regulatory filings an asset.Knowledge of eCore, Dye & Durham and Corporations Canada online filing system an asset.
